An OK buffet with children all over, pushing for the chaat, starters & what have you. Not really much going for it. Orchid is much better...

Entrance off the lobby, was a cosy clubby furnishing bar with plush sofas. The main bar is at the other end. The place is full always from 8pm and is pricey. However the freebies average out the bill. They serve a round bowl with three compartments filled with channa, peanuts and crisp warm wafers, Then a variety of veg/non-veg started keep doing the rounds. If you have ordered a couple of rounds by then they do not mind leaving it in a plate behind for you along with the salad & papads. After renovation the only thing that has changed is the furniture, everything else is the same. The crowd is mostly business people and atmosphere is casual.

This place holds extremely fond memories besides the lovely food. Way back in 1994 it was here over kheema pav, bhurji, tea, pattice, bun maska & everything else that, one afternoon we had prepared a Business Plan on its paper napkins that stood us good for a year:) It is a must visit whenever that part of town.....though it has been lesser & lesser now.

Visited this restaurant & tasted hot dog (veg) way back in 1971 when they had a juke box also. After leaving mumbai, visited it on & off to have a quiet beer in the afternoon. Was always put off by the crowd after the renovation. However the week before last, saw no crowd, parked the car & went in. Good friendly service, the hot dog, pav bhaji & potato toast were just as remembered but the chutney with the dosai was runny,,, but all in all a place to visit again.....

They open the restaurant with the entire staff doing puja, aarti & then ushering the guests in, offering prasad. One of the first restaurants to offer complimentary mineral water, way back in 1995. The thali is very similar to gujarati thali, but there is more of gujarat & less rajasthani here which is sometimes a good thing. Quick service, VFM, personalised service & you are out in the sun in 30 minutes...what more do you want for less than 200 bucks

A good place, that serves consistently amazing food for the past decade, though have seen it progressively getting expensive, but guess tony's got to do it to open & subsidise the new restaurants he opens:)

Was such a regular in 2005 that a corner used to display reserved sign for 3-4 days a week. Serves a mean Margarita, frozen just the way I like it. The so called chakna, is pretty good, with salad, peanuts, wafers, papads, aloo chat thrown in. And the starters are pretty good. They also have a VFM buffet during lunch.

A small place 25 years ago, now has half the ground floor, with out door seating, indoor AC & another restaurant called golden chariot serving liqour at the back. Good south indian & punjabi stuff. Tried their nachos a couple of months back, ok. Quick service inside. The outside is mainly the shoppers stop staff during the day. Try their bread butter (thick yummy slices) & strong tea in a glass during the monsoons.
