This restaurant, believe it or not, was started in 1947 and takes the credit of inventing the Butter Chicken. There are many Moti Mahals in Delhi but this is the original one. At present the decor and ambience seems to be frozen in '47. Even the staff seems to be from that era. But the food is great and of course i went there for the butter chicken which lived up to its promise. The tandoori chicken is also very good. A little steep at Rs. 125 for half the bird roasted and colored in red. Interestingly the color red of tandoori chicken is banned in Punjab for health reasons. The butter chicken is in a more acute angle of steepness and gives you half a plate for Rs. 175. But the meal is good comes out piping hot and satisfies the taste buds. There is a a/c section big enough to seat 70 and a open air section of equal size. The open area has live ghazal cum filmi sit down orchestra which entertains although you need to feel like a depressed talent scout.
