A line of old wooden planks, painted black to suit the rustic look of the restaurant, forms a fence. The menu du jour, written in fluorescent, hangs on a little ramshackle door that swings open to lead you to the patio seating area. To the left is a low seating area with gaddas and a number of tiny cushions to keep your party comfortable. The lengths of colourful cloth tethered to the top sway in the breeze enhance the Mediterranean look. Mirror shards are pasted on to form beautiful patterns on the dark purplish walls and the hanging lanterns make them glitter all night in the otherwise dim ambience. The interior section opens up to a large bar with a poster of Jack Daniel’s on one wall and Jim Morrison on another. Here, the colour themed decor has made way for elegant steel backed chairs and brighter lights. The music is a mix of retro, rock, club and popular hip-hop tunes.

Vertigo is every urban college students dream! Cheap booze, good music, tasty food, beautiful crowd....not many places in Mumbai can offer this heavenly combination. They generally plays rock(70s, 80s, 90s), which is awesome in this rock starved world, and it attracts like minded crowd. However, the best part is cheap booze. An entire bottle of kingfisher can cost you Rs.120(plus taxes), pretty cool eh? The lightings are just perfect and makes the ambiance so much more better. On the service they're very personal and well managed. And who can forget The Lizard King on the wall? I'm referring to Jim Morrison's oh so lovely portrait on the wall. With their focus on rock in this hip-hop obsessed city, cheap booze, good food & service, great crowd, this place ranks high on my list!

Vertigo (“lightheadedness”) - The place definitely got me in high spirits (pun intended). This pub/lounge located just off link road in Malad plays the most awesome music ever (genre-rock). The seating is perfect to sit back and unwind. The décor is perfect (for lack of a better word). I couldn’t help but gape at the interiors. I felt a gush of stimulation walking in to the tunes of coldplay and The Doors… it took over my senses. One of the walls inside the pub is painted with Jim Morrison’s portrait to depict their respect towards the ‘greatest rock legend’ himself. The bar is really well kept. They have everything from kingfisher beer to jack Daniels old whisky. The drinks are not very expensive (70 bucks for a pint of beer plus taxes). The place is perfect from all angles visible to me. I love it! Vertigo definitely asks for a second visit… soon! :)
