Tucked away in a small bylane of Colaba, leading to the now old and defunct Strand Theater, is a small table and benches restaurant serving real authentic Goan Food..... the one the way "Mamma" makes it. Their simple menu on a blackboard on the wall, is simple consisting of a odd 30-40 dishes, but the "handwritten" specials of the day are great. There is the "steak with fried onions and potatoes", spicy and rich "goan sausages" , pork vindaloo, sorpotel, all eaten with freshly bake "pao" from the bakery down the street. Regulars from the offices in down town make up most of the clientele, and you got to wait in queue outside on the street to get a place sharing your table with some other people. By the way, the "Goan fish Curry & Rice" is awesome! Finish it off with an apricot pudding and the bill of under Rs 100, and burpp you way back to the office. Definitely worth travelling from Andheri all the way there to good old "Martins".
