Had an opportunity of visiting after years. And it was a serious let down. The Dhansak was oily, the famed berry pulao was with few berries, the chicken was rubbery.....only the pudding was as good as one remembered. Being a regular some years ago, shared these observations with the owner, who sagely nodded his head....do not know if to say, we will take care of it or please carryon, there are a lot more yuppies to replace your kind of people. But all in all a bad experience. Would really think twice about returning.

The scrumptious food consisting of the staple Parsi cuisine of Dhanshak , Berry Pulao , Patra-ni-machh ,Sali Boti (mutton parsi style) more than makes up for the simple décor of this eatery. I don't have any words that could describe the food here - it comes closest to fulfilling the craving satisfied only by "ghar ka khana"!! The Caramel Custard is the ideal way to wrap up the feast. And NO meal is complete without their Rasberry Soda! Britannia fulfills its apt motto of “there is no greater love than the love of food” (printed on the paper napkin) with aplomb along with its reasonable pricing and excellent service (they actually serve food within 10 minutes as promised). They have been praised locally , nationally and Internationally (New York Times!) - yet the owners and staff of this 85 year old Iranian joint welcome each of its customer as their family member with a smile on their faces and only kind words to offer ( to an extent where their lovable owner Mr Kohinoor goes around taking orders) . They are open only for lunch time between 11 to 4 and almost on most days, they are brimming with customers to such a magnitude that they run out of food by 3 :) Also noteworthy is the fact that they tell their clients of the non availability of a particular dish with the simple ease of a Mother (sans formality a.k.a full on "apnapan" ). You leave this place with your soul gratified and a tummy with stories to tell. I INSIST you go there as soon as your in that side of town - just for the sheer experience to be served outside your home with such warmth and love!
